reDIP VIA MOS 6522 has been tested with a Commodore 1541, 1541-II, 1571, Vic 20 Computer and BackBit Chip Tester Pro.
The reDIP VIA is an open source FPGA board created by: Dag Lem a prominent coder in the Retro Commodore Community who's work is also featured in VICE 64 emulator. This chip combines the following in a DIP-40 Package.
- Lattice iCE5LP1K-FPGA
- 1 Mbit FLASH
- 5v tolerant I/O
- Low Power Consumption/Low Heat
- Custom MOS 6522
- Works in both 1MHz and 2MHz modes
- ON 1571 Drives Only , the chip must be soldered to the board directly in order to fit back underneath the 1571 power supply.
The reDIP VIA Provides an open source hardware platform for MOS 6522 VIA Replacements.
- The board is fully pin compatible with the venerable MOS 6522
- Cycle Accurate emulation of the MOS 6522 has been implemented
- Gateware implementation made possible by Frank "androSID" Wolf and Dieter "ttlworks" Müller
