What is BackSID v2?

BackSID v2 is a Modern plug-and-play replacement for the MOS 6581 and 8580 SID sound chip used in the Commodore C64 and C128.

Simply remove the original SID and insert your NEW BackSID v2 into the socket — no modifications required.

Firmware can be upgraded with your C64/C128.  

OverDrive: Adds Loudness and mild Distortion

Filters: Changes cutoff frequencies to match SID Models, or choose a blend.

Smoothing: Reduces waveform aliasing but also sound brightness.
